Placeless Flags

The images in this series emerged through observations of surfaces, shadows, colors, and lines. By framing details from the environment, images appeared that resembled flags. Not official. Not national. Flags without reference, without a place.

There was no intention to depict anything specific. Yet through looking and composing, a connection emerged — not literal, but suggestive. These images seem to allude to something familiar, without naming it. They carry no symbols, but their form is enough to evoke memory or imagination.

The induction is not absolute. It leads to no conclusions. It simply creates a space where recognition and uncertainty coexist. As if these were flags of a place that does not exist — or perhaps images waiting to find their place in the viewer’s gaze.
